In 2012, a small group of 9 believers stepped out in faith and committed to plant a new church in Ventura. Throughout the course of 2013, God brought together over 30 people to form the Core Team that would launch the church. These people had a vision for proclaiming the authority of God’s Word without apology, for lifting high the name of Jesus through worship, for believing firmly in the power of prayer, and for sharing Jesus with boldness. Harvest Bible Chapel Ventura was born on this date, with Brent Hisayasu serving as the pastor. After a year of prayer, teaching, and training Harvest Bible Chapel Ventura was born on September 29, 2013 at Ventura County Christian School.
In 2019, the church body humbly came together and decided to rename the church in order to be a healthier and fuller expression of the church of Jesus Christ for Ventura County. So in January 2021, Redeemer’s Church was relaunched as a declaration to Ventura County of the power of the gospel.
Redeemer’s Church partners with Acts29, a diverse, global family of church planting churches. Acts29 exists to encourage, resource, facilitate, support and equip churches to plant churches.
We are not a perfect church, but God has made us a good church. God has given us supernatural unity and joy as we have labored for his great name. We are privileged to join other biblical churches of Ventura to spread the fame of Jesus Christ across the county.
